Angeles Briones

Design researcher

Angeles Briones is a Post-Doc research fellow in Design at the DensityDesign Research lab, and Adjunct Professor at the Design School Politecnico di Milano. Her research interests fall in the intersection of data visualization and data activism, areas she addressed in her Ph.D. dissertation "Disclose to tell. A data design framework for alternative narratives" (2019). As part of the research project, she developed the Alternative-Narratives-Vis-Archive.com, an archive that collects projects in which data visualization supports alternative narratives to those delivered by dominant power narratives. Currently, she is seeking to experiment with narratives that approach data and visualization literacy.
