Our Story

Do you know the awful feeling you get when you wake up and have to go to work every morning? Well, we don’t. We’re crazy about what we do and you feel this in every detail when collaborating with us.

But things were different when we were just starting.

We started doing data visualization back in the time when no one else in our country and the broader region even knew what it was. Frankly, we didn’t know either. We were doing things mostly intuitively and learning through the process.

After working for five years as a team on different exciting data communication projects, we felt it was time to start a new chapter. And we founded ForSet.

ForSet is a Tbilisi-based creative enterprise on a mission to strengthen change-makers using data, design, and technology. Founded in 2017, it is one of the first organisations of its kind in Georgia and unites the country’s some of the best designers, illustrators, animators, researchers, journalists, and web developers to uncover stories behind vast data and to visualize them.

What we do

Always with a keen focus on data, we work in four domains: Storytelling; Education; Civic Tech; Community Building.

Data storytelling

We make complex knowledge accessible for more people by turning data into engaging visuals such as  a factograph, infographic, interactive visualization, animation, and multimedia project.

With each project, we go through four phases: coming up with an idea; carrying out a research into the topic; developing a concept; visualizing it.

Educational programs

Since there aren’t many organisations specializing in data visualization in our region, we run educational programs to teach others about data collection, data cleaning and analysis, and data communication.

We work with a wide range of professionals, such as journalists and CSO activists, researchers, government representatives, students, etc, both from Georgia and the region.

Civic tech

We create various web applications such as user-friendly data portals, civic tech tools, educational games, and compelling storytelling CMSs.

When we create a new tool, we make the code open source, enabling anyone to take it and use it the way they want.

Community building

We are very passionate about data storytelling and we want to get as many people inspired by data opportunities as possible.

We run various community building events where we create a fun and relaxed atmosphere for people from various professional backgrounds to meet each other, network, share their knowledge and start collaborations that will help them bring their craziest data-related ideas to life.
